It was one of my first days as a junior developer for a large tech company. I didn’t know anyone, but the amazing ethos of the place was cemented in my mind from very early on. Why? Well, in the cafeteria at lunch time, I spotted a young kid who had also recently started, order the last plate of food on offer.
Unfortunately, he slipped and dropped all his food over the floor. He looked incredibly upset and was repeatedly saying “sorry”. Then, a bunch of experienced colleagues grabbed him a seat, told him it was okay, and shared their lunch with him, whilst another cleaned up the mess off the floor.
